Oldfashioned is the right word, it's the first beetroot chutney I have come across that tastes like my mother's recipe, and she died in 2001 aged 95! Other chutneys all seem to include sultanas or raisins and are sweet and rather insipid. This has a clean, tangy taste that is ideal with cold beef as well as corned beef and cheese. I can't make my own nowadays because of poor health, but this is a brilliant substitute. Thanks, Emily, keep stirring!
